How do I request an amendment to the CCSD Schedule(s)?

When a change is requested to the Schedule(s) via the website, whether as a new code, unacceptable combination, inactivation, reactivation or a narrative change, these pass through a request form that must be completed by the user?

In order to submit a request you will need to be a CCSD member, which provides you with access to the members’ areas of the CCSD website. If you are not a member, you can request access via the ‘new users’ tab at the top of the page.

CCSD requires you to register to provide an audit trail of where new requests originated, provide a contact point for queries and because the CCSD Schedule(s) is copyrighted and users need to agree to the terms and conditions of use.

For further information, see the How-to guides located in the Guidance section.

Detailed guidance

Depending on the type of amendment you would like to make to the CCSD Schedule(s), there is a set of requirements that your code request should meet before it can be considered by the CCSD Working Group.

Some principles that the Working Group apply when reviewing requests include that it:

  • Should describe a discrete clinical activity
  • Should provide greater clarity or differentiation between other procedures/ diagnostic tests
  • Should have sufficient or anticipated sufficient volume across the country
  • Should have proven efficacy and/or benefit to another approach proven through international guidelines
  • Should be independent of commercial concerns
